KitchenAid is celebrating its 100th anniversary the only way it knows how: by releasing two limited-edition, vintage-inspired models of its iconic stand mixer. Boasting a retro, midcentury-inspired design, stand mixer, and color scheme, the 100 Year Collection harkens back to 1937 when the iconic tilt-head stand mixer first debuted.
The first model takes the midcentury inspiration a step further with its vintage-inspired ceramic hobnail bowl, which, in our humble opinion, cements it as a true collectible (and bumps the price up from $400 to $500). The limited-edition stainless steel mixer, on the other hand, offers a sleeker, more modern aesthetic well-suited for a contemporary kitchen.
The limited-edition models also feature subtle, one-of-a-kind details unique to the 100 Year Collection. The KitchenAid logo, for example, features a curvier script than its modern block letter, in keeping with the vintage theme. "1919 - ONE HUNDRED YRS. - 2019," is also emblazoned along the mixer's tilt head as well as the power hub cover. Details aside, we're most excited about the new hue: Misty Blue, a wholesome pastel blue that, in the words of Delish, is "more calming than 10 deep breaths." We'd have to agree.
