It’s official! The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder has been renewed for a second season on Disney+. The news came days before the revival’s season one finale aired back in April. The original animated series, which followed the antics and adventures of 14-year-old Penny Proud and her family and friends, wrapped back in 2005. The reboot picks right back up with the Proud family but is, of course, given a modern-day revamp.

In season one of the revival series, most original cast members reprised their roles, including Kyla Pratt as Penny, Tommy Davidson as Oscar Proud, Paula Jai Parker as Trudy Proud, Jo Marie Payton as Suga Mama, Cedric the Entertainer as Uncle Bobby, Karen Malina White as Dijonay Jones, and Soleil Moon Frye as Zoey Howzer. Some of the buzziest stars lent their voices to the show as well, such as Lizzo, Lena Waithe, Lil Nas X, and Bretman Rock.

Is The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder season 2 in production?

Yes! Disney+ announced on their social media accounts on April 18 that the new season of the animated series is officially underway: “Even louder 👏 Even prouder 👏 Season 2 of @TheProudFamily: #LouderAndProuder, is officially in production!”

Is there a trailer?

Also yes! On September 10, Disney+ dropped the trailer for Louder and Prouder season 2. All of the Prouds are back, and we see Penny, Oscar, Trudy, Suga Mama, and the twins navigate more adventures together. The new chapter covers so many important topics as well, as Penny, LaCienega, Dijonay, and the rest of her friends protest and fight for justice. Check out the full trailer below.

Is the main cast returning?

Pop open the Proud Snacks because many of the Louder and Prouder main cast has signed on for season 2, Deadline reports. That means Penny and the fam, Michael, LaCienega, Dijonay, and Zoey are back. Season one also introduced new characters, such as Maya Leibowitz-Jenkins and Randall, voiced by Keke Palmer and Billy Porter, respectively. According to E! News, they’re set to appear in season 2 as well!

Are there any guest stars for season 2?

Season 1 stacked some of the biggest names in the business, and season 2 appears to be no different. According to Deadline, Chance the Rapper, Storm Reid, Gabrielle Union, Normani, Leslie Odom Jr., Gabby Douglas, Laurie Hernandez, Jane Lynch, Holly Robinson Peete, Maury Povich, Anthony Anderson, Dominque Dawes, Courtney B. Vance, and Liana Mendoza are set to be featured.

Is there a release date for season 2?
