Protesters Picket ICE Offices in New York

Protesters gathered outside the lower Manhattan offices of the Immigration and Customs Enforcement office on June 21 to rally against President Donald Trump’s ‘zero-tolerance’ immigration policy.

The protest was organized by local Jewish organization T’ruah. In this footage, the protesters are singing the Jewish song Salaam, which includes the lyrics “Peace will come upon us, yet, peace, upon us and upon the whole world.”

On June 20, after facing mounting pressure, Trump signed an executive order to end the policy of separating children from parents attempting to cross the US-Mexico border illegally. Parents awaiting prosecution for immigration violations will now be held with their children in federal custody.
