Pro MTB Rider Jack Moir Shows Off His Moto Skills
There is a huge amount of crossover between the sports of mountain biking and motocross. The skillset is so similar that Aaron Gwin’s Motocross background allowed him to hop on a mountain bike for the first time at age 20 and just four years later win a World Cup.
Many pro riders do a fair bit of dirt bike riding as well. Watch Jack Moir ripping around on the moto below.
Careful observers might notice that this video lacks the normal roaring we have come to expect from a dirt bike. That is because he is riding a Stark Varg, a fully electric dirt bike.
Unlike a Surron which we sometimes see masqueraded as an e-bike by their owners, the Stark is not pretending to be something it is not. It is a hog and does not try to hide it.
Jack spent a whole day goosing it around in the mud. Watch his full video below.
The offseason from racing is a time when pros can focus on doing fun things with their time. For Moir, this means finding the limits of a fully electric motocross bike.
