Today marks four years since Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank tied the knot, and the royal took to social media to celebrate the special occasion with a previously unseen photo from their wedding day.

In the photo, which Eugenie posted to her Instagram Story, her new husband can be seen helping carry the train of her wedding dress as they exit a car. Talk! About! Romantic!

On the day, Eugenie wore a long-sleeve gown designed by Peter Pilotto and Christopher De Vos. The dress featured a neckline that folded around the shoulders with a v-shaped back – the low-back design was a special request from the royal to honour the scar she has from surgery to correct her scoliosis. She finished the look with the Greville Emerald Kokoshnik tiara, estimated to be worth a £10 million, which she borrowed from her late grandmother Queen Elizabeth II.

Elsewhere on social media, the 32-year-old shared a photo from the big day on her Instagram feed. "Happy Anniversary my Jack. 4 years and counting..." she wrote in the caption alongside the snap, which showed her and Jack sharing a private kiss in a carriage after the wedding ceremony.

The image – captured by photographer Alex Bramall –went down a treat with royal fans, with many flocking to the comments section to wish the couple a happy anniversary. "Has it been 4 years? It feels like just yesterday, you were the most beautiful bride," one fan said, as another commented: "Love love love this pic. Happy Anniversary you gorgeous two."

"What a beautiful photo," a third fan wrote, with someone else commenting: "Happy Anniversary! What a beautiful photo."

Since their wedding day, Eugenie and her husband welcomed a son, August, born in February 2021. Revealing the special meaning behind their son's name, Eugenie wrote on Instagram shortly after his birth: "He is named after his great grandfather [Prince Philip] and both of his great x5 grandfathers. August Philip Hawke Brooksbank."

It's believed that August's first name pays tribute to Queen Victoria's husband, Prince Albert, who is the little royal's great-great-great-great-great-grandfather. August's middle name is a nod to Eugenie's grandfather, the late Duke of Edinburgh. Hawke comes from Jack's side of the family, with Reverend Edward Hawke Brooksbank (born in 1789) being Jack's great-great-great-great paternal grandfather.

Happy anniversary Eugenie and Jack!
