Yesterday, Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, launched a new charitable initiative in honor of her 40th birthday. The project, entitled 40x40, asks 40 individuals to dedicate 40 minutes of their day to helping a woman returning to the workforce after the pandemic. The Duchess made the announcement in a comedic video with actress Melissa McCarthy; however, the Bridesmaids star was not the only celebrity Meghan asked to help out in the effort.

The Duchess's cousin-in-law, Princess Eugenie, is also taking part in 40x40. Eugenie posted a graphic about the initiative on her Instagram story, along with some sweet words about Meghan.

"To celebrate dear Meghan's 40th birthday, I'm contributing 40 minutes of mentorship to support women reentering the workforce," the Princess wrote. "In the past two years, tens of millions of women around the world have departed the workforce. If you can, please join me and commit 40 minutes to community, service or mentorship."

Eugenie also included a few cheery birthday gifs in addition to her words of support.

Princess Eugenie was not the only public figure to take to Instagram for Meghan's big day. Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton also shared that she, too, was participating in the 40x40 initiative. On her Instagram account, Clinton posted a photo of Meghan from the Duke and Duchess's 2019 visit to Johannesburg, South Africa. In the caption, Clinton encouraged her followers to get involved in the project.

"Meghan, The Duchess of Sussex, turns 40 today. To help celebrate, please join me in committing 40 minutes today to community service," Secretary Clinton wrote. "When everyone contributes a little, a lot can change for the better. #40x40 #CompassionInAction"

According to a press release, a number of other celebrities also took part in the project, including Adele, Amanda Gorman, Amanda Nguyen, Deepak Chopra, Dr. Ibram X. Kendi, Gloria Steinem, José Andrés, Dr. Nadine Burke Harris, Sophie Grégoire Trudeau, and Stella McCartney.
