Princess Beatrice and Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi are married! The couple secretly tied the knot in a private ceremony in Windsor this morning.

Buckingham Palace confirmed the happy news with a statement, which reads:

The private wedding ceremony of Princess Beatrice and Mr Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi took place at 11am on Friday 17th July at The Royal Chapel of All Saints at Royal Lodge, Windsor. The small ceremony was attended by The Queen, The Duke of Edinburgh and close family. The wedding took place in accordance with all relevant Government Guidelines.

It’s fairly safe to assume that in addition to Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip, Beatrice’s mother, Sarah Ferguson, father, Prince Andrew, and sister, Princess Eugenie were all in attendance.

Any photos from the wedding aren’t expected to be released until tomorrow, as the couple didn’t want their event to overshadow the investiture of Captain Sir Tom Moore, who is being knighted at Windsor Castle later today.

Edo, as he is known to close family and friends, proposed to Princess Beatrice during a trip to Italy in September of 2019.

“We are extremely happy to be able to share the news of our recent engagement. We are both so excited to be embarking on this life adventure together and can’t wait to be married,” the couple said in an official announcement. “We share so many similar interests and values and we know this will stand us in great stead for the years ahead, full of love and happiness.”

They were originally going to be married in London on May 29, with a reception in the Buckingham Palace gardens, but the coronavirus pandemic forced them to change their plans, and postpone their nuptials until today’s intimate gathering in Windsor.
