Newlyweds Princess Beatrice and Edoardo "Edo" Mapelli Mozzi have found a way to celebrate their marriage, despite the pandemic. The couple is currently enjoying a "small honeymoon," according to a report from People, and has another, bigger trip in the works.
"They are on a small honeymoon in France," a source told the publication, adding, "They have a longer more luxurious honeymoon planned for August."
Beatrice and Edo surprised royal watchers earlier this month with a previously unannounced, small-scale wedding, after they were forced to cancel their plans for a big bash in May due to the coronavirus crisis. Fans learned of the couple's nuptials the day of (Friday, July 17), but had to wait a full 24 hours to see any photos from the event.
When the pictures did come, they were well worth the wait. They revealed the Princess's somewhat unconventional choice of wedding dress—a vintage gown by Norman Hartnell, on loan from the Queen—which she paired with the Queen Mary Diamond Fringe Tiara, the very same sparkler that Queen Elizabeth wore on her wedding day. The socially-distanced ceremony took place inside the Royal Chapel of All Saints at the Royal Lodge, Beatrice's childhood home.
The ceremony was followed by a small reception. "A few more people were there than the wedding, but it was still very small and intimate," a source told People. "It was all outdoors and under a tent with the same matching floral design and theme as the wedding."
