One September 20, Buckingham Palace announced the happy news that Princess Beatrice and her husband Edoardo Mapelli-Mozzi had welcomed their first child together.

"Her Royal Highness Princess Beatrice and Mr Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi are delighted to announce the safe arrival of their daughter on Saturday 18th September 2021, at 23.42, at the Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, London," the palace said in a statement. While we initially only got this basic information about the baby (even her name was under wraps for a time, as it's traditional for the royal family to hold back the names of babies for a while) Beatrice and Edo ultimately revealed their little girl's name, Sienna Elizabeth Mapelli Mozzi, along with a sweet photo of her footprints. "We are delighted to share that we have named our daughter Sienna Elizabeth Mapelli Mozzi," Beatrice wrote on Twitter. "We are all doing well and Wolfie is the best big brother to Sienna."

Though many royal births have been accompanied by post-hospital photo ops introducing the baby to the world, in recent generations, some of the royals have branched out and done their own thing when it comes to the first photos of their little one. For example, Princess Eugenie, Beatrice's sister, shared an adorable glimpse of her son, August, on Instagram on the day his birth was announced in February 2021—a trend which clearly inspired Beatrice. Meanwhile, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have yet to debut a photo of their daughter, Lilibet, who was born back in June.
