Though the British royals have pared back on international travel over the past year, the Princess Royal is set to make an overseas trip next month. Princess Anne is headed to Paris from Sunday, October 3 to Monday, October 4.

While in France, Anne will meet with senior representatives of the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games. The Princess is a member of the International Olympic Committee, a job she's held since 1988, and President of the British Olympic Association and Team Great Britain. Anne is also Patron of the Scottish Rugby Union and, as such, will also meet with individuals involved in the Rugby World Cup France 2023.

Additionally, Anne's two days in Paris mark the 75th anniversary of UNESCO (the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization). During her visit, the Princess is set to meet several of the recent laureates and prize-winners of the UNESCO-L'Oréal Women in Science Program, which recognizes, per Buckingham Palace, "researchers who are working to overcome global challenges."

It has only been a couple months since Anne was involved in this year's summer Olympic Games in Tokyo. However, because of the pandemic, the Princess could not attend the games in person. She did send a special message to the British team, as they went for gold.

"As your President, I would like to wish you every success for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games," the Princess Royal said. "Although I am sad not to be there in person, I and the whole nation will be cheering for you and proudly supporting you from home."
