Yesterday, Prince William launched the Earthshot Prize, an ambitious decade-long project in which £50 million (roughly $65 million) will be granted to those attempting to solve the world's most pressing environmental problems. Each year from 2021 to 2030, five £1 million prizes will be awarded for a total of 50 potential solutions to key issues pertaining to clean air, the restoration of nature, reviving our oceans, fixing our climate, and building a waste-free world.
Today, Barack Obama praised the initiative on Twitter saying, "It’s going to take a lot of big-thinking and innovation to save the one planet we’ve got—and that’s why @KensingtonRoyal’s leadership on climate change can make a real difference."
