It’s weird to think about what music the royal kiddos listen to. Because…they probably do listen to the “ABCs” and the “The Wheels on The Bus.” How else would they know the alphabet and how the wheels go? Or maybe “London Bridge” and “Wee Willie Winkie” are more their style. Regardless, they must listen to nursery rhymes. It’s weird to imagine, but it makes sense.

And what about after that? When they’ve outgrown those melodies? Well, then we picture the halls of the various palaces and cottages filled with Mozart and the likes. Or classical renditions of modern songs a la Bridgerton.

So we were shocked to learn about Prince George and Prince Louis’ faves. While at the Earthshot Prize awards in Singapore, Prince William told OneRepublic that the royal family plays their music often.

“Louis, my youngest, loves your songs,” Prince William said

What?! Same, but what?! How did that happen? Pop music is played in Adelaide Cottage? Prince Louis, 5 hums along to “Counting Stars?” I guess we should have expected nothing less from the most iconic young royal.

LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM - JUNE 05: (EMBARGOED FOR PUBLICATION IN UK NEWSPAPERS UNTIL 24 HOURS AFTER CREATE DATE AND TIME) Prince Louis of Cambridge attends the Platinum Pageant on The Mall on June 5, 2022 in London, England. Meanwhile, Prince George is more of a classic rock guy. The 10-year-old likes to listen to AC/DC. And again, we have to ask, “What?!”

Prince William did not reveal which bands Princess Charlotte, 8 gravitates towards, but last month she was overheard singing a religious song to herself. The special moment apparently made her mom smile. “I heard my daughter singing this morning and it’s a song called ‘Shine Jesus Shine’ and that made me very happy this morning,” Kate Middleton said.

And that one makes so much more sense. Of course the royal kids would know such songs when they’re often seen in Westminster Abbey. How OneRepublic and AC/DC made it into the royal homes will still be a mystery for us, but we are so here for it.

Before you go, check out Prince Louis’ most hilariously chaotic moments.
