Prince William and Prince Harry's Drama Actually Stems from Fights Over Money
Finding Freedom reveals that some of Prince William and Prince Harry's tension stems from arguments over money.
Harry has always "come second" to his brother when it comes to funding.
2019 was dominated by headlines about Prince William and Harry's *breathes exhausted sigh* royal feud, and new biography Finding Freedom is finally shedding some light on the brother's drama. And apparently it stems back to tension regarding money. Specifically, the brothers trying to convince their dad to give them cash for expenses (like Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton's wardrobes!)—which William got the lion's share of what with being the future monarch.
“While Charles may be a father to Harry, he’s also their boss, and that makes their relationship complex for a number of reasons,” a source said in the book, per Entertainment Tonight. “Where you are born in this family dictates your position of power, and because of that, Harry has always come second to his brother, especially when it comes to funding. There were times in the past when Harry wanted to take on bigger projects and do more work, but he couldn’t get the money to support it. William was always the priority. A lot of their quarrels have been over budgets.”
Of course, that tension seeped into other areas of William and Harry's relationship—and their relationship with Charles. In fact, a source says that Prince Charles' 70th birthday photoshoot was “an absolute nightmare,” that “neither William nor Harry made much of an effort to make themselves available,” and that they have a history of being "hot and cold with their father."
