The Platinum Jubilee was a thing that happened over the weekend—but more importantly, it was Prince Louis’s time to shine. If you’re royally challenged like me, you may not know exactly what the whole celebration means—and perhaps neither does the youngest Cambridge child.

Although he may not be first in line to be a king on the British throne (that honor goes to his grandpa, Prince Charles), he was the internet’s king throughout the monarchy’s festivities in celebration of Queen Elizabeth II’s 70 consecutive years as queen. Now his parents are slyly addressing the online storm caused by the little prince’s actions.

In a tweet thread from Kensington Royal—the official account of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge—William and Kate wrote that the family “had an incredible time, especially Louis…,” cheekily adding a knowing eye emoji. The family thanked everyone who supported the queen this weekend, writing: “From the crowds on the Mall to communities hosting street parties up and down the country, we hope you had a weekend to remember.”

We know Prince Louis will remember it all too well.

The four-year-old prince became the internet’s favorite meme while watching planes fly overhead (one for each year of Queen Elizabeth’s II reign so far) during Trooping the Colour last week. The youngest Cambridge child covered his ears while the jets passed by, which, honestly, same. Ruptured eardrums do not sound fun!

Prince Louis also teased his mother on the final day of the queen’s Platinum Jubilee pageant, catching the eye of several photographers for some hilarious content.

The photos feel reminiscent of Prince Louis’s uncle, Prince Harry, when he was a child. The now philanthropist was known then for toying around with British tabloid photographers, often making funny faces. Clearly, humor runs in the family.
