Prince William left the wife and kids at home and quietly attended his ex-girlfriend’s wedding on Saturday, December 17th! The Prince of Wales, 40, looked dapper in a black suit with a black bow tie when he arrived at ex-girlfriend Rose Farquhar’s Cotswolds wedding to George Gemmell at the Church of St. Mary the Virgin, Tetbury in Gloucestershire. And if we are to believe the reports, it was quite the stunning event!

Prince William Attends Ex-Girlfriend's Wedding Alone

"It was a magical winter wedding in the snow," a source told People. "The bride and groom left in a tunnel of guests with sparklers in the dark, before leaving in the back of a vintage Land Rover. The Cotswolds are so beautiful in the snow!" they added.

It's not surprising to see Prince William at Rose's wedding as she was also a guest at his and Kate Middleton's royal wedding back in 2011, so it seemed only right that she return the favor and add him to her guest list! The dad-of-three wasn’t the only ex in attendance either, as Kate's ex Rupert Finch was there with wife Natasha Rufus Isaacs, as was Olivia Hunt, another ex-girlfriend of Prince William's. Oh to have been a fly on the wall!

Prince William's solo wedding trip comes shortly after the rumors of his alleged affair with the Princess of Wales' best friend Rose Hanbury, the Marchioness of Cholmondeley, made headlines again, following the release of the trailer for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's Netflix docuseries Harry & Meghan.

The rumors that Prince William had cheated on a pregnant Kate first started circulating in April 2019 when they were first published by InTouch and then re-published by some British tabloids, which prompted Prince William to take legal action against the British tabloids that printed the "false and highly damaging" allegations, and threatened to do the same to any other publication that printed them.

Prince William's Alleged Affair Is Trending Again After The Latest 'Harry & Meghan' Trailer

In the trailer for the second part of Harry & Meghan, Prince Harry says that the royal family was "happy to lie to protect my brother, but they were never willing to tell the truth to protect us." Meghan Markle’s comments in the clip are just as dramatic and compelling, as she added, "I wasn’t being thrown to the wolves, I was being fed to the wolves."

Prince William's Rumored Affair Becomes A Talking Point Online After Second Harry & Meghan Trailer Drops

In the days since the trailer dropped, many Twitter users have been wondering what Harry meant during his confessional, and why the royal family would be "happy to lie to protect" William. This led many to recall the rumor that first shocked the internet in 2019, that suggested that William and Middleton's friend Hanbury had an affair when the princess was pregnant with Prince Louis at the time.

William took "immediate legal action" in regards to an InTouch story that published these details. All of this happened, many on Twitter are pointing out, while Markle was facing a mountain of negative stories from the British press while working as a royal family member, and they don't think this is a coincidence.

One user recently compared William to his father, known cheater King Charles, on the social media site, writing, "Whoops, the Rose Hanbury of it all. Worst kept secret in the UK. William and Charles are similar. They don’t care about their reputation enough to NOT cheat but trust, they will be outraged if anyone dares to call them out on it." Someone else on Twitter remembered seeing an instant change in the UK at the time as to what media outlets were choosing to cover, claiming, "I was on Apple News the day the stories on Rose Hanbury broke. I witnessed the stories changing to stories about Meghan in real time. It was surreal."

Fans will have to see exactly what royal drama the next episode of Harry & Meghan addresses, and whether it's about William's alleged affair or something else, it certainly looks intense!

Prince William's Affair Rumored To Be Associated With 'Pegging'

Back in July, popular celebrity gossip Instagram account Deuxmoi shared an anonymous (and unverified) report (so take this with a grain of salt) from one of its 1.5 million followers. The report offered a “salacious” tale about a “British royal’s extramarital affair” that the writer claimed was an “open secret in London and amongst the English aristo set.” The reported source added, “At a recent media party, I was told the real reason for the affair was the royal’s love for pegging, which the wife is too old-fashioned to engage in.”

The alleged insider then apparently noted that “the wife doesn’t mind her [the affair partner] and in fact prefers her husband getting his sexual needs fulfilled elsewhere, as long as they don’t become emotional, which was the case with the last woman.” This last bit, fans on Twitter and elsewhere seemed to think, was referring to Hanbury (who The Sun reported in 2019 had a "falling out" with Middleton amid William's cheating rumors). Some users tweeted at the time that they thought the Prince and Princess of Wales (then the Cambridges) were using Markle and Harry as a "distraction" every time one of William's "cheating scandals" came around.

One tweeted, “I don’t care if Prince William indulges in extramarital affairs. I don’t care if he likes a bit of pegging. I do care though that he and his wife used Meghan as a distraction from their lives being talked about.” Others expressed that they "fully don't believe" the "ridiculous" report or "any others regarding an affair."

With hashtags like #PrinceWilliamAffair” and “#PrinceofPegging” trending earlier this summer, others found the report "amusing" and "hilarious," even if it is "most likely not true," as another wrote. Comedian Richard Jeter garnered many likes and replies with his tweet on the matter, as he wrote, “Man, the next season of The Windsors is going to be lit, and The Crown’s gonna have to clock in an NC-17 series.” As another user wrote, clearly no one, "regardless of how famous, royal," or "protected," is fully safe from the "most insane" rumors on Twitter!
