Prince Philip Will Surrender His Driving License Following Accident

• Prince Philip didn't suffer any injuries during last month's road traffic accident, but he was taken to hospital as a precaution.

• In a statement released by Buckingham Palace, and shared on Twitter by Scobie, it was revealed that, "After careful consideration The Duke of Edinburgh has taken the decision to voluntarily surrender his driving license."

After his involvement in a road traffic accident in Sandringham last month, Prince Philip has decided to surrender his driving license.

Royal reporter Omid Scobie shared a statement from Buckingham Palace on Twitter which said, "After careful consideration The Duke of Edinburgh has taken the decision to voluntarily surrender his driving license."

Per The New York Times, the prince wasn't injured in the collision, but the two women in the other car sustained injuries-the driver had cuts on her knee, and the car's passenger broke her wrist. Meanwhile, a baby traveling in the vehicle with the two women was unharmed.

In a statement released at the time, the Palace revealed, "The accident took place close to the Sandringham Estate. Local police attended the scene.

A source tells BAZAAR.com that the accident occurred on a public road in Sandringham, with Prince Philip at the wheel. He was seen by a doctor at Sandringham and given the all-clear, and later attended hospital as a precautionary measure.
