Watch: The Duke and Duchess of Sussex visit the One World Trade Centre in New York

Prince Harry is carrying a loving tribute to his son Archie, 2, during his visit to New York with a personalised laptop bag.

He was spotted coming out of United Nations Plaza yesterday carrying a case with the words 'Archie's papa' embossed on the side.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex arrived in New York on Wednesday and are set to appear at Global Citizen Live in Central Park on Saturday.

Their two children, two-year-old Archie and three-month-old Lilibet, stayed at their home in Los Angeles.

This was the pair's first public appearance since stepping down as senior members of the Royal Family at the beginning of last year and marked Meghan's first public appearance since giving birth to Lilibet in June.

They visited United Nations Plaza yesterday where they met with the US Ambassador to the United Nations Linda Thomas-Greenfield to have an 'important discussion' about the COVID-19 pandemic, racial justice, and raising mental health awareness.

In May, Harry opened up about his own struggles with mental health in his five-part documentary series The Me You Can't See on Apple TV+, where he revealed that he used to use alcohol and drugs to help him cope with the death of his mother Princess Diana. It was executive produced by the Duke of Sussex and Oprah Winfrey.

On Saturday, they are expected to speak at Global Citizen Live, an event bringing together artists, leaders, and Global Citizens to defend the planet and defeat poverty, where they will call on members of the G7 to donate $1 billion for COVID-19 vaccines to poorer countries suffering from the pandemic.

Earlier this month, he spoke of the need for vaccine equity in a speech at the GQ Awards.

He said: 'We cannot move forward together unless we address this imbalance as one.

'At the same time, families around the world are being overwhelmed by mass-scale misinformation across news media and social media, where those who peddle in lies and fear are creating vaccine hesitancy, which in turn leads to divided communities and eroding trust.

'This is a system we need to break if we are to overcome Covid-19 and the risk of new variants.'

Those performing at the event on Saturday include Jennifer Lopez, Kylie Minogue, Coldplay and Ricky Martin.
