From Town & Country

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's revelatory interview with Oprah Winfrey earlier this month left us all with a lot of burning questions. (Watch a clip from the program above.) One of the biggest was how the royal family would respond—particularly Harry's brother, Prince William, and his father, Prince Charles. Now, more than a week on from the interview, Harry has reportedly spoken with them both.

Gayle King, who is friends with both Oprah and Meghan, spoke about the aftermath of the interview on CBS This Morning on Tuesday. According to King, Harry spoke with Charles and William over the weekend, but the conversations didn't go particularly well.

"I'm not trying to break news, but I did actually call them to see how they were feeling," King revealed on the show, per People. "And it's true, Harry has talked to his brother and he has talked to his father too. The word I was given was that those conversations were not productive. But they are glad that they have at least started a conversation.

"And I think what is still upsetting to them is the palace keep saying they want to work it out privately, but yet, they believe these false stories are coming out that are very disparaging against Meghan, still."

King added that as of Tuesday morning, nobody in the royal family had spoken to Meghan yet.

Viewers have been particularly curious about Harry's relationships with his father and brother, because he revealed in the interview that he has recently been somewhat estranged from them both. One of the most striking moments during the conversation came when Harry revealed that Charles had at one point "stopped taking [his] calls". Asked about his relationship with William—which has long been rumored to be troubled—Harry responded, "The relationship is space, at the moment."

Later in the show, King also confirmed that Meghan has evidence to substantiate all of the claims she made to Winfrey.

"Meghan has documents to back up everything that she said on Oprah's interview. Everything," King said.
