Prince Harry Says Son Archie Is Already Talking About Princess Diana

Prince Harry just revealed that his son, Archie, who recently turned two years old, has already said the words “Grandma Diana.” The toddler is aware—as much as a toddler can be–of his late grandmother because Harry and wife Meghan Markle are keeping her memory alive in their home in California.

“I got a photo of her in his nursery, and it was one of the first words that he said—apart from mama, papa—it was then grandma. Grandma Diana,” Prince Harry revealed in his new docuseries, The Me You Can't See, on Apple TV+. “It's the sweetest thing, but at the same time, it makes me really sad because she should be here.”

The redheaded royal previously revealed that Archie's very first word was crocodile (cute!), and it sounds like his vocabulary is fast expanding. “He's got the most amazing personality,” he told James Corden earlier this year. “He's already putting three or four words together; he's already singing songs.”

Reflecting on what his late mother would make of his new life, Prince Harry mused (per People), “I have no doubt that my mom would be incredibly proud of me. I'm living the life that she wanted to live for herself, living the life that she wanted us to be able to live. So not only do I know that she's incredibly proud of me, but that she's helped me get here. And I've never felt her presence more as I have done over the last year." Prince Harry revealed in his and Markle's bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey that it was money he inherited from his mother that allowed the couple to move out of Britain.

“I wish she could've met Meghan,” Prince Harry added. “I wish she was around for Archie.”

Thankfully, Archie does have one living grandmother: Doria Ragland, Meghan Markle's mom.
