Prince Harry just sat down with The Telegraph for an interview about his memoir, Spare, and on top of revealing that the book was originally 800 pages (so…enough for two full books), he said there were some stories that didn’t make the cut. Mostly because Harry knew his family would straight-up never forgive him for telling them.

“There are some things that have happened, especially between me and my brother, and to some extent between me and my father, that I just don’t want the world to know,” Harry said. “Because I don’t think they would ever forgive me.”

At this point, it’s unclear if Harry’s family will forgive him for what *did* make it into the memoir. The royals haven’t been in contact with the Sussexes since the book dropped, and while there are reports that a pre-coronation reconciliation summit might take place, William reportedly isn’t in the mood to move on.

An anonymous friend recently told The Times that “William will be going through a range of emotions—anger, concern, and worry—not just for his family but how all this is going to affect the institution. He will be thinking strategically and grappling with the personal versus the institutional reaction. We know how closely he followed his grandmother’s example, and the institutional response may win the day over the personal. But he is staunchly protective of his own family, and he’s not just going to roll over.”

More recently, a source told The Times that despite not being ready to meet with Harry and patch things up, William “is loyal to the throne and understands what needs to be done for the country. Not everyone here behaved well, but Harry’s got to be able to sit down and say ‘we didn’t behave well either.’ That takes a lot of academic flexibility, which Harry isn’t great at.”
