Prince Harry says Prince Philip was 'cheeky right 'til the end' of his life in tribute

Prince Harry paid tribute to his late grandfather Prince Philip with a statement on Monday.
He said his grandfather was a "man of service, honor, and great humor."
Prince Philip died on Friday at Windsor Castle.
Prince Harry said his grandfather Prince Philip was a "man of service, honor, and great humor," in a tribute following the 99-year-old's death on Friday, April 10 at Windsor Castle.
The Duke of Sussex arrived at London Heathrow Airport two days later in advance of his grandfather's funeral on Saturday and is staying at his former home, Frogmore Cottage until the event takes place.
Harry was not joined by his son Archie or Meghan Markle, who is pregnant and did not receive medical clearance to travel from her physician, a royal spokesperson confirmed to Insider on Saturday.
In a statement sent to Insider, Harry shared a personal account of the grief he feels over losing his grandfather, which read: "My grandfather was a man of service, honor and great humor. He was authentically himself, with a seriously sharp wit, and could hold the attention of any room due to his charm-and also because you never knew what he might say next."
"He will be remembered as the longest reigning consort to the Monarch, a decorated serviceman, a Prince and a Duke. But to me, like many of you who have lost a loved one or grandparent over the pain of this past year, he was my grandpa: master of the barbecue, legend of banter, and cheeky right 'til the end," it continued.
"He has been a rock for Her Majesty The Queen with unparalleled devotion, by her side for 73 years of marriage, and while I could go on, I know that right now he would say to all of us, beer in hand, 'Oh do get on with it!'
"So, on that note, Grandpa, thank you for your service, your dedication to Granny, and for always being yourself. You will be sorely missed, but always remembered-by the nation and the world. Meghan, Archie, and I (as well as your future great-granddaughter) will always hold a special place for you in our hearts."

Harry ended his statement with a Latin saying that is the motto of the Royal Marines that translates to "By Sea, By Land." He and his grandfather shared a close connection to the Marines after working as part of the Royal Navy.
When Prince Philip retired from duties after a life of public service, Harry took over the role of Captain General of the Royal Marines, a title he renounced when he officially stepped back as a working member of the royal family in March 2020.
Prince William also joined the long list of British royals issuing a statement to eulogize Prince Philip, saying: "I feel lucky to have not just had his example to guide me, but his enduring presence well into my own adult life - both through good times and the hardest days."
Prince Philip's funeral will take place on Saturday at St George's Chapel, Windsor Castle. While the public will not be allowed to attend or pay their respects in person, it will be widely televised and there will be an honorary national minute's silence at 3 p.m. according to Sky News.
