After over a year away from the United Kingdom, Prince Harry returned home for his grandfather's funeral. He also got to see his brother, Prince William, for the first time since his departure.

The two brothers walked in the procession prior to services, following the late Prince Philip's coffin. They were not, however, side by side—their cousin Peter Phillips walked between them. When they arrived at the chapel, they split into pairs, with Prince William beside Phillips and Prince Harry next to Princess Margaret’s son David Armstrong-Jones, the 2nd Earl of Snowdon.

However, after the funeral service, the princes walked together back to Windsor Castle for the private reception. Harry and William were seen speaking to each other and strolling next to one another.

This reunion comes just over a month after Oprah Winfrey interviewed Prince Harry and his wife, Meghan, Duchess of Sussex. During this televised special, Harry described an estranged relationship with both his father and brother. "The relationship is space, at the moment," Harry said, referencing his dynamic with William.

However, the family came together to honor Prince Philip, who died last week at age 99. Prince Harry flew to the UK from California, where he and Meghan currently live. The Duchess of Sussex is in the third trimester of her pregnancy, so was advised not to travel. She did, however, watch the funeral from home.

Prior to the ceremony, both brothers shared fond remembrances of their late grandfather. "Grandpa, thank you for your service, your dedication to Granny, and for always being yourself. You will be sorely missed, but always remembered—by the nation and the world. Meghan, Archie, and I (as well as your future great-granddaughter) will always hold a special place for you in our hearts," Prince Harry wrote.

Prince William shared similar sentiments, noting, "My grandfather was an extraordinary man and part of an extraordinary generation. Catherine and I will continue to do what he would have wanted and will support The Queen in the years ahead. I will miss my Grandpa, but I know he would want us to get on with the job."
