Meghan Markle and Prince Harry almost named their son, Archie Harrison, something else.
They considered naming Archie ~Archibald~ for a hot sec!
TBH, it's pretty hard to imagine Archie Harrison with a name that isn't Archie Harrison. I mean, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry just seem to love and adore the name for their baby boy so much and honestly isn't it the cutest little boy's name you've ever heard? But believe it or not, Meghan and Harry *almost* gave Archie a different name, according to a friend who spoke to Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand for their Finding Freedom book.
Meghan and Harry's friend, Hello! reported, said that they "wanted something traditional, a name that was powerful even without a title in front of it." At first, they considered giving Archie the longer, more official version of his name. "They thought about Archibald for all of one second...He was always going to be little Archie," the source added.
Of course, Archie isn't the only name that Meghan and Harry call him. While Harry was on a video call for the 125th anniversary of the Rugby Football League, he slipped up and called Archie "our little man" when talking about how he wants to get Archie into the sport eventually.
"I've got a little space outside, which I'm fortunate enough to have so I need to get [Archie] playing some Rugby League," Harry said. "I'm just unbelievably fortunate and grateful to have outdoor space and see my son be able to be outside, because I know so many people just haven't had that opportunity in the last five months."
"Our little man is our number one priority but our work after that is the second priority," the royal continued. "We’re just trying to do everything we can to do our part to make the world a better place." Reminder: Archie is also called "Arch" and sometimes "bubba" by Meghan too. BRB, crying my eyes out at this cuteness.
I dunno about you, but I am sincerely hoping we get more adorable names for Archie!
