Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's interview with Oprah Winfrey is only a few minutes in, and the couple is already dropping bombshells. Among them? That when the Duke and Duchess of Sussex said "I do" in front of the world, they had already been officially married for three days.

Oprah asked Meghan what she was excited about in her new life (i.e. post-working royal life), and the Duchess replied, "Just being able to live authentically... it's so basic but it's really fulfilling."

She continued, "I was thinking about it, you know our wedding—three days before our wedding, we got married. No one knows that. We called the Archbishop and we just said, look, this thing, this spectacle is for the world. But we want our union between us, so the vows that we have framed in our room are just the two of us in our backyard with the Archbishop of Canterbury and that was the piece that..."

Added Harry, "Yeah, just the three of us."

Prior to the live broadcast, a preview clip of the interview was released, in which Meghan explained why she felt the time was right to open up—and share details like her and Harry's secret wedding ceremony. "As an adult who lived a really independent life, to then go into this construct that is different then I think what people imagine it to be. It’s really liberating to be able to have the right and the privilege, in some ways, to be able to say, ‘Yes, I’m ready to talk.’ To be able to just make a choice on your own and just be able to speak for yourself," she said.
