The Sussexes are officially a family of four!

Duchess Meghan gave birth to a baby girl on Friday, June 4, marking her second child with husband Prince Harry. Representatives for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex released a statement confirming the baby news early Sunday morning.

"It is with great joy that Prince Harry and Meghan, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, welcome their daughter, Lilibet “Lili” Diana Mountbatten-Windsor, to the world," read a statement on behalf of the Sussexes' press secretary. "Lili was born on Friday, June 4 at11:40 a.m. in the trusted care of the doctors and staff at Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital in Santa Barbara, CA."

The Sussexes' camp also shared that their newborn baby girl came into the world weighing 7 pounds, 11 ounces. Both Meghan and Lili are "healthy and well, and settling in at home. The Duke and Duchess thank you for your warm wishes and prayers as they enjoy this special time as a family," concluded the statement.

Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan also penned a short message via their Archewell website regarding their daughter's arrival.

“On June 4th, we were blessed with the arrival of our daughter, Lili. She is more than we could have ever imagined, and we remain grateful for the love and prayers we’ve felt from across the globe," read the couple's note. "Thank you for your continued kindness and support during this very special time for our family."

The pair also noted that in lieu of gifts, they encouraged family, friends, and fans to donate to four charities dear to them: Girls Inc., Harvest Home, CAMFED, or Myna Mahila Foundation.

The newborn's name is a sentimental ode to two important women in the couple's lives: Lilibet, which is the family nickname of Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II, and her middle name, Diana, of course, named after Prince Harry's late mother, the Princess of Wales.

The couple first announced they were expecting their second child on Valentine's Day with a stunning black and white portrait captured by photographer Misan Harriman and taken in the couple's Montecito, California backyard. They purposely shared the news on the holiday to honor Prince Harry's late mother, Princess Diana, who announced her pregnancy with Harry on the same day three decades prior.

The Sussexes' daughter arrives two years after the couple gave welcomed their first child, a son named Archie Harrison Mountbatten Windsor, in May 2019. At the time, the pair still resided in the U.K. as working royals.

Meghan previously spoke out about her excitement in welcoming a girl into the family and how she hopes she and her husband can shape a better, more fair, and more equitable world for her to eventually inherit during an appearance on Global Citizen's VAX LIVE benefit event.

"My husband and I are thrilled to soon be welcoming a daughter. It's a feeling of joy we share with millions of other families around the world," said Meghan during her speech. "When we think of her, we think of all the young women and girls around the globe who must be given the ability and support to lead us forward."
