Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Put Archie in Swim Lessons Last Year

From Town & Country

Of all the revelations to come from Finding Freedom, a forthcoming biography of the Sussexes by reporters Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand, this is by far the most adorable. The new book tells us that, when baby Archie was just a few months old, he started swim lessons.

In preparation for his trip with parents Prince Harry and Meghan, Duchess of Sussex to South Africa, the little royal began learning to swim. Given that he was born in May 2019, and lessons took place the summer before the family's October 2019 visit, Archie must have been just a few months old when he first took the plunge.

Have no fear, though, his parents certainly did their research. According to Finding Freedom, Meghan and Harry only enrolled their son in swim lessons "after anxiously [looking] up videos on YouTube about how babies can hold their breath under water."

Swimming wasn't the only landmark event for Archie during this time period. Apparently, during his time in South Africa, Archie "continued to achieve new milestones, including mimicking the sound of animals during their stay at the High Commissioners residence in Cape Town."

Given that Archie now resides with his parents in Los Angeles, he probably has more opportunities to improve his swimming skills, given the city's warm weather and abundance of pools. Hopefully, we'll get a photo of Archie in his floaties and flippers soon!

Either way, Archie is growing up quickly right before our eyes. His mother, Meghan, certainly agrees. As Meghan told a friend, according to Finding Freedom, "'[Parenthood is] a handful, but every moment is so precious."
