Prince Harry Apparently “Feels Terrible” About Hurting Queen Elizabeth After Stepping Back From Royal Duties
Prince Harry is apparently a little guilty about how stepping back from his senior royal duties affected Queen Elizabeth.
The queen supports his and Meghan Markle’s decision, but she reportedly feels stressed about seeing less of him, Meghan, and her great-grandson, bb Archie Harrison.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle may be enjoying their peaceful new life overseas in Canada, but that doesn’t mean Harry doesn’t have a teensy bit of guilt about how his departure made his great-grandmother, Queen Elizabeth, feel. Understandable, because would you ever want to intentionally hurt your grandmother’s feelings? Nope, didn’t think so.
According to an Us Weekly source, Harry reportedly “feels terrible about hurting his grandmother, whom he adores.” This checks out, because other sources say Queen Elizabeth is pretty stressed out about not getting to see little Archie Harrison now that he’s in Canada with Harry and Meghan. She’s “heartbroken over the thought of not getting to see her great-grandson,” a separate Us Weekly insider shared. “The queen would love to have a relationship with Archie, but it’s looking unlikely that will ever happen.”
It’s been reported that the queen is “emotionally and physically exhausted” by the drama in the royal family rn and wants Harry and Meghan’s transition to be “over and done with.” At the same time, she’s fully supportive of Harry and Meghan’s decision. “The last thing Elizabeth wants is for Harry to feel estranged from his family, ” an Us source said following Harry and Queen Elizabeth’s four-hour heart-to-heart meeting, so take that for what you will.
Although Harry may feel bad about the stress his grandma feels, he’s also working through the life change himself. “He misses nights out with his boys, polo matches and rugby, and he’s really been craving a decent pint,” the source added. “He had to put his wife first, end of story. Even if it’s left him feeling a bit isolated.” FYI: Harry is a grown man capable of making decisions for himself—any feelings of isolation aren’t Meghan’s fault, mmkay?
Looks like the drama surrounding Harry and Meghan’s decision will continue until further notice, but hey—everyone in the monarchy will get over it eventually...right? (God, I hope so.)
