Coronavirus is all anyone is talking about, and with good reason. It’s strange to be stuck indoors and afraid of a virus that is spreading faster than we want it to be. We’re doing our part, and as more testing gets done, more positive cases of the illness are reported. The latest person is His Royal Highness Prince Charles. The palace confirms that the next head of the throne has COVID-19, but he still seems pretty chill about it. Here’s what we know.
Prince Charles’ Clarence House has stated that Prince Charles’ health is not concerning, even after being diagnosed with coronavirus. “The Prince of Wales has tested positive for coronavirus,” a statement reads. “He has been displaying mild symptoms but otherwise remains in good health and has been working from home throughout the last few days as usual.
The 71-year-old Royal is in the high-risk category of getting very ill from this virus due to his age, and he’s self-isolated in Scotland. His wife, Camilla, The Duchess of Cornwall, has not tested positive for coronavirus, but she is also self-isolating with Charles, at the advice of the medical team.
“It is not possible to ascertain from whom the Prince caught the virus owing to the high number of engagements he carried out in his public role during recent weeks.”
So far, his mom, The Queen, who is 93-years-old, remains in “good health,” according to Buckingham Palace, and they stress that the palace, “is following all the appropriate advice with regard to her welfare.”
