Prince Albert Plans to Bring His Kids a "Trinket" From King Charles's Coronation in May

Prince Albert was the first foreign royal to confirm his attendance at King Charles's coronation this May. He will attend with his wife, Princess Charlene, but their 8-year-old twins Prince Jacques and Princess Gabriella will not join them.

"In the briefings our ambassador has had with other ambassadors, we've learned we'll have to limit the numbers of officials in the different delegations," Albert told People. Though Jacques and Gabrielle will not be in London, Albert says, "I'll bring them any little 'trinket' I can put my hands on."

King Charles's coronation will take place on May 6, 2023, at Westminster Abbey in London, conducted by the Archbishop of Canterbury. During the coronation, Charles will be crowned alongside Camilla, Queen Consort. Buckingham Palace shared, "The Coronation will reflect the monarch’s role today and look towards the future, while being rooted in longstanding traditions and pageantry." Royalty from around the world, and Commonwealth leaders, are expected to be in attendance.

Following the coronation, in June, the Monegasque royal family is set to undertake a visit to the United States. "There's an opportunity to bring them to New York — if we can get them out of school," Albert says. "There'll be a celebration honoring Monaco's 30th anniversary as a member of the United Nations. There'll be a concert by the orchestra of the Carabiniers and a little exhibition, which we're hoping Secretary-General Guterres will attend. I'm just learning the details, but it's a possibility the whole family will go over."
