"Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin" Star Bailee Madison Said Lucy Hale "Manifested" Her Getting Cast

Buckle up, there's a new group of little liars in town. A new installment in the Pretty Little Liars universe, Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin, is set to premiere on July 28 on HBO Max.

The series takes place in Millwood, a town near Rosewood, and follows a new generation. The official logline reads:

One of the Original Sin stars is Bailee Madison, who you might recognize from her iconic roles in Bridge to Terabithia, The Fosters, and Wizards of Waverly Place. Madison plays the leading role of Imogen Adams, a pregnant 15-year-old who is described as "wise beyond her years."

BuzzFeed recently got the chance to snag a few minutes with Madison at HBO Max's Bloody Red Carpet event. She told us she believes Lucy Hale, who played Aria on the OG series, must have "manifested" her getting cast in Original Sin.

"I think Lucy almost manifested it. Her energy is the best," Madison told BuzzFeed. "We were at a workout class and she just said, ‘Oh my god, I just had a thought! You should do the reboot that my friend Roberto [Aguirre-Sacasa] is doing of Pretty Little Liars.’ And I was like, 'Oh, that would be insane.'"

Aguirre-Sacasa also created Riverdale and its spinoff, Katy Keene, which Hale starred in as the titular character. Hale and Madison have known each other since the latter was about 8 years old.

"And then a couple months later, I got the script and texted her, and I was like, 'I think you might have manifested this,'" Madison said. "It’s really incredibly special."

Madison also added that she's "so excited" for fans to get to be reminded of what was "so addicting" about the original. "I’m really excited for them to also be propelled into a very dark, gritty, and ruthless universe," she said. "It’s truly a thrill ride."
