A Staten Island couple got the MAGA-themed wedding of their dreams on Saturday night when President Donald Trump showed up to their New Jersey festivities at his Bedminster golf club.

Newlyweds PJ and Nicole Mongelli told Fox News that they “didn’t even have to think twice” about where their wedding was going to take place before booking the Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster, N.J. since they are such big fans of the president. But even after sending multiple wedding invitations to Trump, they never expected that he’d actually show up.

Social media posts by the couple’s family and friends show Trump greeting the Mongelli’s in a private room before the reception. In one video, the bride tells the president how much she loves him and asks him for a hug.

The couple then asked the president if he would make an appearance at their reception, saying that guests wanted to sing “God Bless America” to him. He obliged and joined their guests, who greeted him with chants of “2020” and “USA.”

PJ’s sister, Heather Mazzo, posted a video to Twitter where the guests are heard screaming “2020” as the president appears at the steps of the ballroom.

“I was in shock!” Mazzo tells Yahoo Lifestyle of the experience while calling the thousands of responses to the video that she posted “surreal.”

The couple’s wedding website mentioned that their wedding hashtag was #MakingMarriageGreatAgain. A guest shared photos of the couple’s Trump-themed wedding details — including a chocolate gold bar that says Trump as a party favor and a Trump 2020 flag hanging on one of the venue’s mirrors.

Hundreds of people responded to the videos and photos of the wedding posted to social media. Some were upset by the president’s attempt to kiss the bride.

Neither PJ nor Nicole immediately responded to Yahoo Lifestyle’s requests for comment. However, during a Monday morning appearance on Fox & Friends, the couple told Fox News that they planned their nuptials around Trump’s schedule.

“For him to come not once, but twice, was just such a beautiful thing,” PJ said. “Just shows the character he has.”

As for any guests that aren’t fans of Trump, Nicole simply said, “We’re all very proud Americans.”

Trump National Golf Club Bedminster did not immediately respond to Yahoo Lifestyle’s request for comment.
