POV Video of a Kitten Going Hiking With Family and Dogs Is Too Precious

More often than not you're going to see someone hiking with their dog while on a trail. As avid hikers ourselves, we love bringing our fur babies with us. It's a great form of exercise for dogs, tiring them out for the rest of the day.

And now, thanks to social media, we're seeing a rise in cats going on adventures too. TikTok user @merletails posted a POV video on August 4 of a kitten going on a hike with the family. Although hesitant at first, he secretly loved it!

O.M.G. Stop it! We can't handle the preciousness of this video. The voiceover for the kitten was perfection. If you've ever taken your dog on a hike, most of the time they're thrilled. But cats, on the other hand, they're way more hesitant as we see in this clip.

We love how this kitten's little legs were trying to keep up with the dogs running. He definitely seemed scared at first, but in no time at all he was climbing trees, showing his doggy siblings how it's done. Soon enough he'll be leading the hikes!

As much fun as it looks to bring your cat along for a day of hiking, it's not as easy as it looks, especially if you have an older cat. It will take time for them to get used to being outside since cats aren't known to be enthusiastic travelers, so it's always better to introduce them slowly.

You can start by getting cats comfortable in the car since most people will have to drive to hiking trails. If you do travel in the car with your cat, be sure to bring a cat carrier that will be big enough for your cat to get up, turn around, and lie down comfortably. Don't forget a leash, harness, litter box, little, first aid kit, medications, and of course, food and water. Also, be sure to check the requirements for the state you're traveling to in case they need health certificates and vaccination records.
