Sierra Mist Replaced With A New Soda Amazon

Sprite has won. Sierra Mist is no more. Don't mourn its death. Celebrate its lemony life and all the good times it gave us. But before you grab a box of tissues, know that PepsiCo already has a replacement lined up.

Earlier this week, the soda company launched the all-new Starry, a lemon-lime soda that just "hits different," according to its slogan. PepsiCo says that Starry is meant to be just as "optimistic" as its name suggests, adding that it's "rooted in culture and fun." The soda is described as being "easy-to-drink, optimally sweet" and it "delivers both an exceptional taste and flavor experience."

The caffeine-free soda is also more lemon- and lime-forward than its discontinued predecessor. And according to Pepsi, consumers are drawn to lemon-lime flavored sodas now more than ever.

"At PepsiCo, we are hyper-focused on consumer centric innovation, and we know there's a strong demand for lemon lime flavored soda with the category continuing to accelerate," said Greg Lyons, Chief Marketing Officer at PepsiCo Beverages North America, in a statement. "With one product dominating the category, consumers deserve another option…one that hits different."

Pepsi didn't waste any time introducing Starry to the masses. Regular and zero-sugar versions of the soda are already available at U.S. retailers nationwide.

Like most people, we're now eager to see how Starry does against its new rival, the powerhouse Sprite, which isn't going anywhere.
