Portia de Rossi Celebrates the Launch of Her New Art Venture, General Public

Last night, actress and artist Portia de Rossi celebrated the launch of General Public, a first-of-its-kind art curation and publishing company that creates reproductions of original works by a unique group of emerging and established painters from around the world.

Diane Keaton, Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Ellen Pompeo, Jennifer Garner, and De Rossi’s wife, Ellen DeGeneres, were among those who came out to Galerie Half in Los Angeles to get a first look at the collaboration that is beneficial to all involved. “Our motto is ‘support artists, not art,’ ” said De Rossi. “With General Public, we not only allow painters the ability to maximize their profitability as an artist, but we are also able to better provide the people who appreciate these artists the opportunity to own and enjoy their works.” Art smart, indeed.
