Blaze Pizza, one of the nation's most popular pizza chains and the winner of our recent new pizza taste test, is about to bring its top-notch pies to even more customers in the South. The company announced this week that it plans to add 16 new franchised locations this year across Florida, Tennessee, and Texas.

Ten of the new locations will open in the greater Austin area, and they'll be operated by Kelsey Irvine, who currently has 11 Jersey Mike's restaurants under his belt. Additionally, six new locations headed by hotelier Kunal Patel will open in Panama City, Fla., and Pigeon Forge, Tenn. (RELATED: 7 New Fast-Food Chicken Sandwiches Everyone's Talking About)

The Los Angeles–based chain has embarked on an aggressive growth plan after a successful 2020, and it already opened four new locations in the Dallas area this spring. Currently, there are more than 340 Blaze Pizza locations across the U.S.

"Blaze Pizza kicked off this year with tremendous momentum, which our development team has leveraged to propel our franchise growth efforts, as reflected by these recent multi-unit deal signings. We recognize that our franchisees are integral to the brand's ongoing success and are proud that our unparalleled support system and unwavering commitment to operational excellence have attracted experienced multi-unit operators like Kelsey and Kunal," Ed Yancey, vice president of franchise development for Blaze Pizza, said. "Texas and the Southeast have continued to be ideal markets for our brand, and we look forward to tapping into the wealth of potential in these regions while exponentially expanding our footprint over the next few years."
