Police Recover Thousands of Chicks Abandoned at Madrid Airport

Police in Madrid intervened after more than 20,000 chicks were found abandoned in a cargo area of the city’s Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas Airport.

According to the Policia Nacional, the chicks had been left in crates for three days without food or water, and 6,000 had already died by the time they were found.

The chicks were transported to animal protection associations, but such was their poor state only 3,000 survived.
