Pizza Hut Is Launching Cheese-Stuffed Garlic Knots as a Pizza Crust

Though you’re increasingly unlikely to know them for their disappearing, uniquely-roofed dine-in locations, you can always count on Pizza Hut to be an innovator in the field of stuffing cheese inside of things that aren’t normally stuffed with cheese. For the latest example of dairy-driven disruption, they’ve somehow managed to stuff an existing pizza joint appetizer with cheese, and do some pretty wild stuff with that to boot.

Just in time for the holidays and winter hibernation season, Pizza Hut is reviving their stuffed garlic knots. They’re pretty much exactly what they sound like: classic, buttery garlic knots, packed to the proverbial gills with melted cheese and accompanied by plenty of marinara sauce for dipping. It’s like they took an already great food and made it better in the only possible way.

But that’s just the beginning of Pizza Hut’s garlic knot insanity. For the first time since the 2016 Super Bowl (a mostly boring game that will be remembered for Cam Newton not diving on a fumble), Pizza Hut is offering a Stuffed Garlic Knots Pizza. In human speak, that translates to a pizza which deploys 16 stuffed garlic knots as an herbaceous, cheesy crust. Dubbed a “Pizza-tizer” by a press release, it’s like a stuffed crust pizza adorned with added garlic.

For Pizza Hut, stuffing garlic knots with cheese and attaching them to a pizza caps off a year of change and unorthodox product launches for the brand. In addition to reformulating their Original Pan Pizza for the first time since the 70’s, they also turned a Cheez-It into a calzone-like object and, uh, made a round pizza box.

So if you’re feeling a bit knotty and/or just want to enjoy both an order of stuffed garlic knots and a pizza while also streamlining your carbohydrate consumption, Pizza Hut has you covered. Just don’t get too excited and eat all the knots right away, leaving yourself with no pizza crust.
