Pink Gave Herself a Buzz Cut and — No Surprise — Looks Like a Total Badass
For as long as we've known and loved Pink, the award-winning vocalist has stuck almost exclusively to short hairstyles. But this week, she revealed what may very well be her shortest style ever: a buzz cut.
Pink posted a photo to Instagram taken from above as she squats on the ground. Her head is tilted forward to reveal a nearly shaved scalp. In her cupped hands, she's holding a pile of the hair she just razored off. "Letting Go," is all she wrote in the caption. A bit of her recently silver shade is still seen in what's left of the length, and a photo posted to her Instagram Stories — a sweetly smiling selfie with a butterfly filter — suggests she may even let it grow in darker than we're used to seeing on the usually blonde singer.
Pink hasn't given a reason for why she decided to shave off all but a tiny bit of hair — and she doesn't have to — but friends, family, and fans are showing tons of support for the big change in the comments of the photo. "Twins!!!!🖤," wrote Selma Blair, who has been wearing a buzz cut recently after completing chemotherapy. "The most liberating! 🙌❤️," commented Kate Hudson, who shaved her own head in 2017. Husband Carey Hart chimed in, too, writing, "Love it!!!!!!!!!"
Electric clippers have never been intimidating to Pink; she's been wearing her hair closely shaved around the sides for years, leaving several inches of length atop her head for fun styles. But even for an undercut expert, shaving your entire head down to a few centimeters is a major move. And whether she starts growing it out immediately or continues buzzing it for a while, Pink will most definitely carry the style with confidence.
