The least exciting part of putting up new decor in your home is figuring out the placement of the holes in the wall. It’s almost never perfect on the first try, leaving unnecessary holes hiding behind whatever you hang. Fortunately, a tool called Hang It Perfect can help hang and level frames, mirrors, shelves, flat screen TV mounts, and more—without leaving extra marks.
TikToker @nicolemanzolli shared a video of the tool being used to hang a white circular mirror from HomeGoods. To use it, you have to hook the tool to your item’s hanging hardware and tighten the knobs. Place the tool attached to the decor on the wall, and use the built-in level to make sure everything is straight. Once it looks good, push down on it. The tool will leave marks on the wall to show you exactly where you should install hanging hardware–screws, nails, whatever you need.
The tool, from Crescent Creative Products, is available on Amazon in a 36-inch size for about $23. It has more than 1,000 five-star reviews. "We are very picky about how we hang our pictures, and this takes hanging a picture that would normally take 30 minutes down to less than five," one reviewer wrote. The tool also comes in 24-inch and 48-inch sizes and features a built-in ruler. You can buy packs of the tool, too, should you want to give one to a friend or keep more than one handy.
