Photos of Lily James and Sebastian Stan as Pamela Anderson and Tommy Lee Are Shocking the Internet

On May 7, Hulu released the first images of Lily James and Sebastian Stan's new series Pam & Tommy, and the internet is in shock over the transformations.

The Mamma Mia and Marvel stars are frankly unrecognizable as Pamela Anderson and Tommy Lee, the Playboy model and the Mötley Crüe drummer who dominated the news cycle for a good part of the ’90s. The former couple, who were married from 1995 to 1998 and share two sons, were not involved in the development of the series.

According to Hulu, Pam and Tommy is a “comedic limited series on the true story behind the release of the first-ever viral video in history—the sex tape of Pamela Anderson and Tommy Lee.” The series will also feature Seth Rogen, Nick Offerman, Taylor Schilling, Andrew Dice Clay, Pepi Sonuga, Spencer Granese, and Mozhan Marnò.

Without further ado, here are Lily James and Sebastian Stan as Pam and Tommy:

The internet can barely believe its eyes, especially when it comes to the transformation of James, who somehow looks even more like Anderson in this next picture:

“I mean, give the makeup artist who turned Lily James into Pamela Anderson an Emmy already,” one Twitter user wrote, gaining more than 20,000 likes and 2,400 retweets. One user replied, “No there is no way. my brain cannot compute that this is Lily James.”

Here are some more Twitter reactions:

Anderson married Lee on a beach in Mexico in 1995 after just four days of dating. Not long after the whirlwind romance, an hour-long sex tape was stolen and distributed by an employee, who will be played by Rogen.

It's important to note that the tape was shared without the couple's consent, and their relationship, on the whole, was far from comedic. In May of 1998, Tommy Lee was sentenced to six months in jail for violence against his now ex-wife, according to the Los Angeles Times. The judge also ordered the drummer to pay a total of $6,200 to a battered women’s shelter, a victim restitution program, and a domestic violence fund.

As for the tape, Anderson denies it was a sex tape at all, calling it a “compilation of vacations that we were naked on” during a 2020 appearance on Watch What Happens Live.

“I’ve never seen it. I made not one dollar. It was stolen property. We made a deal to stop all the shenanigans,” the Baywatch star said during another WWHL appearance from 2015, per People. “I was seven months pregnant with Dylan and thinking it was affecting the pregnancy with the stress and said, ‘I’m not going to court anymore. I’m not being deposed anymore by these horny, weird lawyer men. I don’t want to talk about my vagina anymore or my public sex—anything.”
