Mark Zuckerberg's testimony to Congress on Wednesday of last week left many divided about Facebook's handling of political information and advertisements leading up to the 2020 presidential election. However, there was one silver lining that emerged during the hours-long grilling session of the Facebook mogul -- and it's bringing the internet together.

A screenshot of the tense exchange shared between Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Zuckerberg, which shows the freshman congresswoman giving off an Italian hand gesture (she's not Italian, but the gesture is a real thing!), has been going viral with some very creative copy. As Mashable first reported, the meme is still quite big on social media, even a week after the hearing.

In addition to the hashtag #ItalianAOC trending on the social media site, there was even an entire Twitter account dedicated to the memes. It's since been deleted.

Zuckerberg's six-hour hearing was his first testimony to Congress since the spring of 2018. The company, which counts Instagram and WhatsApp as some of its subsidiaries, has been under fire in recent months for their take on digital currency, known as Libra, which was one of the focuses for Representative Maxine Waters.

The founder explained at the testimony that the company plans on "delaying its launch until it has fully addressed U.S. regulatory concerns."

He continued:

"I believe this is something that needs to get built, but I understand we're not the ideal messenger right now. We've faced a lot of issues over the past few years," his statement said.
