Eric Pickersgill removes cell phones from his photos.
The photographer created “Removed,” a photo series that shows how silly we’d look if our phones were “edited out.”
Pickersgill began the series in 2015. Each portrait includes people holding their hands as if holding a phone. The phones were removed from the scene before the photograph was taken.
The photos tell a story of people lost in technology and seemingly unaware of what’s happening around them. These photographers could serve as a reminder to put down our phones and be present with the people in our lives.
