Pete Davidson Opened Up About ‘Girlfriend’ Kate Beckinsale on SNL

"Apparently, people have a crazy fascination with our age difference.”

Pete Davidson commented on his relationship with actress Kate Beckinsale during Saturday Night Live's "Weekend Update" segment last night (March 9). Though the comedian didn't mention her explicitly by name, he fully acknowledged his love life following his split from Ariana Grande after host Colin Jost asked him about his new "girlfriend."

“Anything else going on?” Jost asked Davidson, who smiled coyly. “No, I’m good, I don’t think so,” he replied.

“Not like a new girlfriend situation at all, Pete?” Jost asked again, which prompted Davidson, 25, to talk about Beckinsale, 45—and call out the media's "crazy" fascination with their 20-year age gap. “Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. Apparently, people have a crazy fascination with our age difference,” he added. “It doesn’t really bother us.

"But then again, I’m new to this, so if you have questions about relationships with a big age difference, just ask Leonardo DiCaprio, Jason Statham, Michael Douglas, Richard Gere, Jeff Goldblum, Scott Disick, Dane Cook..." he went on, listing of a bunch of other men who have dated women much younger than them.

It's an incredibly valid point—most people don't even think about a large age gap when it's an older-man-younger-woman situation.

Davidson and Beckinsale first sparked romance rumors in January after they were seen flirting at a 2019 Golden Globes after-party. They were also spotted out and about together in New York City a handful of times before confirming their relationship with a kiss at a recent hockey game.

Cheers to the happy couple—and to the reminder that age is, after all, just a number.
