Little Mix's Perrie Edwards took to Instagram last night to announce that she and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain are engaged. Congrats to the happy couple!
Sharing a series of photos of the proposal with her 15.3 million followers, Perrie said: "Last night the love of my life got down on one knee and I said… YES!"
In the pics, Perrie and Alex appear to be on holiday as he gets down on one knee to a beach backdrop – with the sun setting in the background, he couldn't have picked a better time to propose. The final photo in the carousel shows Perrie's enviable engagement ring, and yes, the diamond is perhaps the biggest we've ever seen.
Her announcement quickly racked up over 1.4 million likes and, unsurprisingly, fans and celebrity friends alike flocked to the comments section to congratulate the pair, with Perrie's Little Mix bandmates showering her with love. "😭", wrote Jade Thirwall, as Leigh-Anne Pinnock put: "Best news! So happy for you both".
"Yesssssssss congratulations beautiful !!! Xx", wrote singer Ella Eyre, with someone else commenting, "Huge congrats!!!! Sending you so much love! And wow that ring!"
Perrie and Liverpool football player Alex have been dating for six years and share a ten-month-old son, baby Axel, who they welcomed in August 2021. Since becoming parents, the couple have kept somewhat of a low-profile, but they have shared a few glimpses into their family life here and there.
