Pepsi is really stepping it up with the, well, interesting flavors. Last month, we were introduced to Pepsi Apple Pie in time for Thanksgiving, and now, we get a hot cocoa-inspired flavor for the winter.

Pepsi “Cocoa” Cola combines the classic soda with the flavors of hot chocolate. So you can expect the new cola to taste like the soda has been combined with cocoa and a hint of marshmallow. We don’t blame you if you’re a little skeptical about this flavor. After all, it’s not the typical kind of soda we’ve come expect from any brand. However, we think this is going to be good, especially in an ice cream float where you want that sweetness anyway.

The hot cocoa-flavored cola is the latest brainchild from the Pepsi Test Kitchen and, with your help, the small batch will grow. Pepsi tweeted about the new “Cocoa” Cola on Dec. 17 and said that if the tweet reaches 2,021 — in honor of the year that we hope is better than this one — the brand will drop the soda later this winter. So do your part to get it into everyone’s hands!

“There is nothing more classic than hot cocoa on a winter day, but this year has been anything but typical. So why not bring together the delicious taste of a Pepsi with the delicious, wintery taste of chocolate and marshmallow and bring some unexpected joy to our fans this seasons?” Todd Kaplan, vice president of marketing at Pepsi, said in a press release. “We are confident we nailed Pepsi “Cocoa” Cola and cant’ wait to get this in the hands of cola fans this winter.”

We don’t see how Pepsi’s tweet wouldn’t get at least 2,021 retweets, especially when there’s a new hot chocolate-inspired drink on the line. So we look forward to trying it for ourselves in front of a fireplace, like hot cocoa should be consumed.
