Pepper Teigen Showed Off Her Kitchen And Talked About The Wedding Gift She Gave Chrissy

Chrissy Teigen's mom (who lovingly goes by Pepper because of her love for spicy foods) showed Delish around her kitchen and it's filled with all of the ingredients she uses to make her homemade Thai food. She talked about her favorite items in her cooking space, her family, and her love for cooking.

"Chrissy and I, we live in the kitchen. We love it," Pepper said, explaining that she moved back to the United States from Thailand when Chrissy and John Legend got married. It's been almost ten years since and she's been cooking for Chrissy and her family ever since.

Pepper explained that there are three main things you can always find in her kitchen: hot sauce, spicy peppers, and garlic. Her fridge also had cans of Coca-Cola and oat milk inside, and Pepper said she doesn't eat cheese or milk so you'll never find those things in her home. Her favorite appliances go hand and hand with the traditional Thai food she's known for and include a sticky rice steamer, wok, and mortar and pestle.

A mortar and pestle are used for mashing ingredients like garlic, and she actually gifted one from Thailand to Chrissy and John for their wedding. Other ingredients Pepper always has on hand are things like palm sugar, oyster sauce, fish sauce, bean paste, MSG, and chili oil. Her dream is to have her own line of these ingredients so they're more easily accessible in the United States.

Pepper's recipes helped to inspire some of Chrissy's own cooking, and she officially released her own cookbook, The Pepper Thai Cookbook: Family Recipes from Everyone's Favorite Thai Mom, last month. You can buy it online and in stores today to try out some of her traditional cooking for yourself.
