People Are Sharing The Universally Beloved TV Shows That They Absolutely Hate, And There Are Some Controversial Takes

Recently, we asked the BuzzFeed Community to tell us what beloved and popular TV show they absolutely do not like and don't understand the hype about. And, well, they truly didn't hold back.
MTV
1.The Office
"Oof, I'm going to get a lot of hate for this one, but The Office. It just isn't funny to me. And it sucks because I LOVE Steve Carell and John Krasinski in LITERALLY EVERYTHING ELSE they've ever done but this. The show itself is just very stupid to me...I've tried to watch it so many times and never understood the hype."
"The Office. I get way too much secondhand embarrassment to enjoy it. And before anyone attacks me with 'you don’t get dry humor,' I find parts of the show funny, but most of it’s too embarrassing."
2.How I Met Your Mother
"I’m sorry — I hate How I Met Your Mother. I get why people like it, and I have enjoyed parts of it in the past — but any enjoyment gets trampled by how selfish and childish the characters are.
Lily’s cute but SO immature. Ted’s the worst. And oh my god, Barney! I find him so offensive! The womanizing, the manipulating women into bed, etc., and then bragging/laughing about it. It’s not funny, and it’s also kind of a dangerous thing to glamorize."

3.Modern Family
"I’ll say sitcoms/comedy shows in general are just super not for me due to their reliance on secondhand embarrassment for laughs. However, Modern Family struck me as, like, the least enjoyable. I just did not enjoy any bit of what I watched, and my family loves that show. Don’t understand it. But always support other people liking it!"

5.Schitt's Creek
"I still don't understand how Schitt's Creek is supposed to be a comedy. And I like some pretty off-the-wall comedy shows."

"I have tried to watch Stranger Things on three separate occasions, and I just can't get into it. Everyone recommends it to me, because it's right up my street — they're right: spooky mysteries with a dose of nostalgia and gore — but I just can't click with it."
9.Gilmore Girls
"My little sisters and mom watch it all the time, and honestly I hate it. The acting is just horrible! The only good thing to come out of that show is Jared Padalecki."
10.Once Upon a Time
"Once Upon a Time isn't that good...like, I've tried to get into it so many times, and I just can't!"
11.The Big Bang Theory
"The Big Bang Theory is the most painfully unfunny show to ever exist. I forced myself to watch an episode to see why people loved it so much, and the entire thing was like nails on a chalkboard. Who is watching this?!"

17.Friends
"Still don’t get the hype. It’s a mediocre show at best. It’s praised as being one of the best, but there are so many other shows that were so well written that don’t get any praise. Plus, I’m sorry — the acting is subpar 🤷🏻♀️."
Friends is the WORST. Point blank, period.
