People Are Putting Balloon Christmas Ornaments On Their Trees

From The Pioneer Woman

Balloons aren’t usually the first thing that come to mind when you think of Christmas decor—they’re likelier to be used for birthdays and New Year’s. But when disguised as ornaments, balloons can be a brilliant addition to your holiday scheme and give your Christmas tree the upgrade it needs.

TikToker @chloeduya shared a balloon Christmas ornament hack originally drummed up to solve the problem of not being able to find large, white ornaments for her tree. Her solution: purchase some white balloons, blow them up, tie them, and place them throughout the tree. The balloons blend in quite nicely with the real ornaments, snowflakes, ribbon, and lights.

People who have been on the hunt for basic ornaments, like big white or black glass balls ornaments, love this hack as an alternative. Others pointed out how using balloons as ornaments is a smart move if you have kids or pets—if the balloons fall off, they won’t shatter into sharp pieces like glass ornaments would. One person suggested using both glass and balloons on your tree, putting the balloon ornaments on the bottom where they're likelier to get jostled and the expensive ones at the top, out of reach. Perhaps the best perk of balloon ornaments, though, is that you can just toss them after the holidays–they won’t take up any storage space throughout the year!

Some TikTokers chimed in with their own hacks, too. “Spray them with hair spray to make them last longer and less likely to pop,” said one commenter. Others recommend adding some sparkle to the balloons (try using glitter and hair spray). Brilliant!
