People are pretty upset Amanda Stanton let her 6-year-old get highlights: 'Don't start damaging her hair'

When Amanda Stanton posted about her 6-year-old daughter’s new highlights, concerned fans didn’t waste any time criticizing her decision to alter her first grader’s hair.

The Bachelor star posted a photo of herself with her older daughter, Kinsley Buonfiglio, on Sunday night with the caption, babe’s first highlights.” While many of her followers simply commented that the pair looked cute, others read a lot more into the photo.

“Don’t start damaging her hair so young,” one commented.

“Why are you in such a rush to have her grow up so fast!!!” another wrote. “Why would you start bleaching her virgin hair? And we wonder why the kids feel entitled.”

Not everyone thought the highlights themselves were the issue, though. “The problem is the attention to ‘looks’ all the time,” one person wrote. “They are too young to be used as models and to make $.”

The reality star posted another photo of Kinsley’s new hair to the 6-year-old’s Instagram page, which Stanton runs, showing that Kinsley went to the salon with two older girls. But some commenters were still critical, asking why the kids were wearing makeup.

In her Instagram story, Stanton called Kinsley’s highlights “babylights for the baby,” showing her followers the whole process at Habit Salon in Arizona. She also responded to the criticism later in her Instagram Story, saying she knew letting Kinsley get highlights would “trigger the trolls.”

“Of course I got some messages saying she’s too young etc…but I got a lot more saying ‘I’m so glad you let her and didn’t care what anyone negative had to say.'” she wrote. “So, moral of the story is. Not everyone is going to agree with everything you do…& that’s okay!”

The last time Stanton made headlines was back in September when she was arrested for alleged domestic battery after she reportedly pushed her boyfriend, Bobby Jacobs, at a hotel in Las Vegas. Stanton was released later that day and issued a statement to People saying she was “embarrassed and ashamed this happened.” She apologized to the hotel security and the Las Vegas Police Department, adding that she simply gave Jacobs a “playful shove” that was misinterpreted at the time.
