People Are Living for Brad Pitt's Reaction to Janelle Monáe Asking Him to Sing at the Oscars
The 2020 Oscars kicked off with a performance by Janelle Monáe.
At one point during the number, Janelle hopped into the audience and tried to get some of the nominees to sing along with her.
Janelle tried to get Brad Pitt to sing into the microphone, but he refused — and fans can't get over his reaction.
The 2020 Oscars started with a bang on Sunday when Janelle Monáe rocked the Dolby Theatre with a musical performance inspired by some of this year's nominated films. Her impressive number featured lots of dancing, a guest appearance from Billy Porter, and even an attempt at some audience participation — which apparently, Brad Pitt was not interested in.
Toward the end of the elaborate performance, Janelle hopped down from the stage and attempted to get some of the nominees sitting in the front row in on the fun. In a call-and-response game, she sang some short melodies and then invited different celebrities to sing them back to her into the microphone. Some of the celebrities were game (Cynthia Erivo, for example), but others — namely, Brad — were not.
When Janelle came up to invite Brad to sing, he chuckled and emphatically shook his head "no." (Celebrities — they get stage fright sometimes too!) Check it out in the clip here:

Naturally, fans had some thoughts about Brad's reaction.
"Brad Pitt being terrified of Janelle Monae making him sing is my favorite thing," one fan wrote. "Brad Pitt's face when Janelle pointed the mic at him hahaha," another fan simply tweeted.
Another fan even compared his reaction to the fear of being called on in school.

Of course, Brad went on to win the first award of the night — Best Supporting Actor for his role in Once Upon a Time in Hollywood — just moments later, so we're guessing he's not sweating this awkward moment too much now.
Congratulations, Brad!
